The Commission on the Future of Women’s Sport has appointed Havas Insight – the specialist research and strategy division of Havas Sports & Entertainment – to undertake a review of the commercial potential within women’s sport.

The appointment follows a competitive pitch, and will form a crucial part of the Commission on the Future of Women’s Sport’s strategy to grow the commercial strength of women’s sport in the UK.

Set up by the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation, the Commission on the Future of Women’s Sport is a body of athletes, academics, administrators and broadcasters which aims to unlock the exceptional potential of women’s sport, by addressing the problems of leadership, investment and profile within the sector.

Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Chair of the Commission said: ‘Women’s sport is a great untapped opportunity in the sports marketplace.  When it is packaged and promoted properly, the evidence demonstrates there is great interest – amongst both women and men – in women’s sport.

‘We have started a process to identify just how large the commercial potential is, and how this can be realised. Our work with Havas will complete this review and be of real importance helping to guide the strategic commercial direction for women’s sport.’
