Hsbc Private Bank Sport Industry 3 Peaks Rally
The Sport Industry Group along with HSBC Private Bank has thrown down the
gauntlet to the UK sport industry to enter teams for the 3 Peaks Rally, an event
which sees entrants negotiate three summits of some of the UK’s highest
geographic points.
The route for the 3 Peaks Rally takes in the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben
Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Snowdon) back-to-back and the Sport
Industry Group is looking for teams to take part with entry for the event free
of charge.
With only 20 teams able to enter the Rally in July, the aim is to raise over
£50,000 for the Greenhouse Schools Project. Greenhouse uses the power of sport
to teach vulnerable and disadvantaged 11-16 year olds life and social skills,
using facilities at leading independent schools to which they would not
otherwise have access.
The Rally starts with a flight up to Glasgow on the morning of Thursday 12th
July before beginning the hike up the 1344m of Ben Nevis following a hearty
lunch and team briefing. The competitors will then move on to climb the 978m
summit of Scafell Pike before culminating the challenge by ascending 1085m to
the top of Snowdon on Friday afternoon, returning home on the morning of
Saturday 14th July. In total the competitors will have climbed an immense 3,407m
in less than 24 hours – a true test of the industry’s physical prowess.
Whilst entry to the event is free of charge, each individual team of four
competitors will be committed to raise a minimum of £3,500 for the 3 Peaks Rally
chosen charity. Teams will consist of one designated driver and three walkers.

reputation for testing itself to its physical limit and the 3 Peaks Rally will
certainly do that. The rewards of the event will be worth the pain, both on an
individual level and for the thousands of disadvantaged children for whom we
will be raising much needed funds.’
