The Inter Continental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Fast Track to provide sports marketing agency services for the next three years to support the group’s status as the official hotel provider for London 2012.
IHG announced its sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic Games in June this year, becoming a tier three supplier through its Holiday Inn family of brands.
Holiday Inn, along with the other hotels in the IHG portfolio, will provide accommodation and meeting rooms for LOCOG and its partners in the build up to the Games, as well as assisting in planning and operating the Olympic Village which will house the athletes in 2012.
Holiday Inn is undergoing the biggest re-launch in the hospitality industry with a £600m investment across more than 3,200 hotels and 430,000 rooms worldwide. The relaunch is on track for completion by the end of 2010.
Fast Track, part of marketing services network Chime Communications plc, will work with IHG on the development of the strategy, activation and implementation of all aspects of the sponsorship.
IHG become Fast Track’s latest client with Olympic and Paralympic connections, joining a number of other brands looking to leverage value from the 2012 Games.
