Red Bull has confirmed the return of its Red Bull Quicksand – a “uniquely brutal” one-mile race along the beach in Margate.

The mass participation obstacle event will see 750 competitors take on the challenge on May 18th 2019, with a knockout format comprising heats, semi-finals and a grand final.

It follows the successful first edition of the race in summer 2018.


NBC Sports Network is to simulcast Sky Sports News’ coverage of the Premier League’s transfer deadline day on Thursday.

The six-hour long coverage of the final day of the January window will be the first collaboration between the pay-tv channels following last year’s $39bn takeover deal which saw Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, acquire Sky.

The SSN live show is to be aired on NBCSN from 2-5pm Eastern Time, which will be followed feature a three-hour analysis show. As part of the production, Sky Sports News presenters will welcome the NBC audience at the top of each hour and will also file a report for the network’s news outlet.


Leeds Rhinos has renewed its sponsorship deal with auto engineer and vehicle safety system specialist SM UK.

The Leeds-based firm has been a commercial partner of the club for five years and is also a sponsor of the Rhinos’ women’s team.

As an associate partner of the club, the SM UK logo will appear on the club’s home kit shirt, shorts and socks, beginning with Leeds Rhinos’ first game of the 2019 Super League season against Warrington Wolves on Saturday 2nd February.


Bitcoin-led sportsbook operator Sportsbet.io has announced a deal that will see it become the principal sponsor of the CONIFA 2019 European Football Cup, taking place in Stepanakert, Artsakh.

CONIFA represents a collection of displaced diaspora, de-facto nations, minority peoples and sports-isolated territories around the world.

Marking its first entry into sponsorship, the betting product will be tasked with supporting and developing the tournament with the teams and volunteers at CONIFA.


The Royal Albert Hall is to host its first world title boxing bout since 1999 in March, on a night which will see Nicola Adams become the first female boxer to ever fight in the historic venue.

The Royal Albert Hall first staged competitive boxing in December 1918 and BT Sport are to televise the sport’s long-awaited return to the London landmark on 8th March.

Adams will take to the ring on International Women’s Day, competing in her sixth professional fight, this time for the WBO World Flyweight title against Mexico’s Arely Mucino.
