Special Olympics, the sports organisation for athletes with intellectual disabilities, has entered into a partnership with data, insights and consulting company Kantar.
Kantar will partner with Special Olympics on their Global Youth Leadership work, which will bring together Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities at nearly 200 global, regional, national and local summits over the next four years. In addition they will run a number of fundraising campaigns to empower athletes and find opportunities for employees to volunteer and participate.
The partnership forms part of Kantar’s recently-launched corporate social responsibility programme, Extraordinary People.
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has signed an exclusive partnership with AXS and the AXS Official Resale platform for the resale of tickets to the next two editions of the ATP Finals at The O2 in London.
The platform, which has already launched in the UK and is expanding into European markets, gives tennis fans the option to resell tickets at face value with a cap of no more than 10% above the price paid.
For the first time, all ATP Finals tickets for sale through AXS will be visible to consumers at the point of purchase in real time.
Birmingham and the West Midlands region will benefit from a £778 million investment to stage the 2022 Commonwealth Games, the government has confirmed.
The public funding, which includes contingency, will be split approximately 75% / 25% between investment from central government (£594 million) and Birmingham City Council and a number of its key partners (£184 million).
Additional commercial revenue will be raised by the Birmingham 2022 Organising Committee and Commonwealth Games Federation Partnerships through ticket sales, sponsorship, merchandising and the sale of broadcast rights.
More than one million tickets will be made available for the Games.
The Projekt E electric development series is to form part of the World Rallycross (World RX) calendar in 2020.
Projekt E will showcase electric-powered cars on the same event schedule as the traditional World RX with a presence at selected European races. The aim of the new series is to evaluate electric race cars in a World RX environment, in the context of the roadmap for electrification of World RX.
Projekt E is a collaboration between IMG and Austrian company STARD. The partnership will focus on developing electric technologies, charging and safety systems for Projekt E race cars as a prelude to the phased electric presence in World RX from 2021.
WaterAid has teamed up with the Wimbledon Foundation to create a fountain created out of 2,631 tennis balls to signal the average number of lives that could be saved each day if everyone had access to clean water and adequate toilets.
The fountain has been set up in London’s Greenwich Park ahead of this year’s Wimbledon Championships.
