John Lewis has been named as the Official Department Store Provider to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The department store will be responsible for a series of Olympic shops that are expected to open across the United Kingdom, selling official Olympic merchandise.

The John Lewis partnership first became affiliated with London 2012 four years ago when it was named as a Champion Supporter and ran the ‘Back the bid’ slogan across their distribution fleet and through its John Lewis stores.

John Lewis will also become the flagship store in the new Westfield Stratford City complex, which is expected to open next year in a site adjacent to the Olympic Park in east London.

John Lewis are the 25th sponsor to sign on with the London 2012 Olympics which brings the organising committee’s target of £700m in sponsorship deals ever closer. They have become a tier three provider to the Games.
