Active event specialist Limelight Sports has announced the appointment of James Hogben to the role of creative director.

Hogben steps up from the position of account director, following an 11-year career with the agency, during which time he has served as client lead on accounts including Nike, The FA and The Eden Project.

As part of his new role, which he will take up with immediate effect, Hogben will continue to lead on Limelight’s work with Nike, while also working across new and existing client accounts.

Limelight Sports, which positions itself as the agency of the active world, has a client portfolio that includes The Royal Parks, MLB, Sport Relief, J.P.Morgan and Swimathon.

The agency claims its new creative director role, alongside an expanding range of services, is evidence of the growth of the participation sector among both participants and brands.

Commenting on his appointment, James Hogben said: “I am excited to be taking on this role and looking forward to the range of opportunities ahead. Creative ideas have never been more important and our clients, both new and old, have an ever-increasing need for new concepts and solutions.

“The creation of this role is a testament to how far the participation sports market has grown, developed and diversified in recent years, and also how much more important it has become for brands.”

Limelight Sports CEO Craig Dews added: “We are delighted that James has taken on this very important new position at Limelight. He will bring huge levels of experience and knowledge to the role along with great enthusiasm and passion.

“It signifies a very positive step for the future and is a further progression for the agency enabling us to offer even greater and wider levels of service to our growing client base.”
