Steve Dews has been appointed Innovation Director at sports marketing agency Limelight Sports.
Previously the Technology Director at Limelight Sports, Dews has been with the mass participation specialist agency nine years, having first joined as Head of Technology in 2010.
Dews will now be responsible for the creation of innovative technology solutions for clients, as well as developing the businesses’ digital capacity and innovation culture.
Dews transitions into a newly created senior team, which includes James Hogben, Creative Director and Director of Strategy and Insight, Rick Jenner.

“The potential for the mass participation sector is huge and still relatively untapped, and Steve’s appointment will enable to unlock a greater range of partner benefits and offer an even better and wider level of service to our growing client base.”
Together, the senior three-person team are to lead the agency’s drive to develop new brand relationships, creating insight-led marketing ideas and campaigns for current and prospective clients to engage audiences through active experiences.
The trio are to develop brands and participation events, including IMG’s Blenheim Palace Triathlon, London Duathlon and Etape Caledonia.
It was revealed that Dews, Hogben and Jenner will also be tasked with developing major innovations for a new title sponsor for the London Triathlon from 2019.
Commenting on his new role, Dews added: “I am extremely excited about being part of this new team which will be focusing on delivering even better results for major brands looking to maximise their returns from their involvement in mass participation sporting events.
“The participation sports sector is unique and offers some very exciting opportunities through digital platforms and data which we can now take advantage of and fully exploit on behalf of our clients.”
Amongst further changes at Limelight Sports, Katherine Daly has been promoted to become Head of Campaign Technology, charged with managing the delivery of all digital solutions for Limelight Sports’ clients.
Limelight Sports, which positions itself as the agency of the active world, has a client portfolio that includes The Royal Parks, MLB, Sport Relief, J.P.Morgan and Swimathon.
