LOCOG, the London 2012 organising committee, has issued an invitation to tender
for digital agencies to respond to a brief to rebuild and redesign the
organisation’s official website.
The tender document, which is available on the site london2012.com, is
calling for new media companies to assist in the website rebuild.
LOCOG is also looking for digital agencies to supply a variety of new media
services in 2007 and beyond and intends to create a roster of suppliers who can
bid for contracts.
The tender process will include a live online conference/webcast in early
December, with appointments expected to be made early next year.
The flagship website will serve the London Organising Committee and the
Olympic Delivery Authority in the lead up to and throughout the 2012 Games.
Alex Balfour, head of new media for London 2012, said: ‘Our website and our
blog are our windows on the world, and an integral communications channel for
us. As we enter the digital era, our website and digital content will help us
define the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, and engage with the
whole nation.’
