The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has launched the tender process for a specialist provider to design and deliver floral bouquets and arrangements for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The successful bidder will be responsible for designing and delivering bouquets that will be received by winning athletes at the London 2012 Victory Ceremonies. The opportunity is available for florists to enter by visiting the business opportunities portal CompeteFor (www.competefor.com).

Budding companies will need to demonstrate the skills and resources to design assemble and deliver bouquets & floral arrangements to approximately 29 London 2012 venues during the Games.

This will include 6,700 identical bouquets for the London 2012 Victory Ceremonies, to be delivered every other day during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, 30 arrangements for the Opening and Closing ceremonies and 130 arrangements for conferencing facilities.

The opportunity is a competitive tender process seeded on the business opportunities portal Compete-For, and closes on 21st January 2011, at 9:00am.

LOCOG’s Games-time procurement process will see £700m worth of contracts awarded before the summer of 2012. To date, 98% of contracts awarded by LOCOG and the ODA have gone to businesses based in the UK.
