LOCOG, the organising committee for the 2012 Olympic Games, has named sportswear
and airline as the final two categories for which it will look to find top-tier
domestic partners.

LOCOG has already announced the first six domestic partner categories which
will be banking, insurance, oil and gas, utility services, automotive, and
telecoms.

In naming the final two categories, Chris Townsend, commercial director at
LOCOG, stated that it needs to raise £2bn in total commercial revenue in order
to meet his funding target.

While sponsorship income will shoulder the bulk of these costs, with each
domestic partnership valued at £100m, subsidiary revenue will be pulled in from
ticket sales, merchandising and licensing.

LOCOG has steadfastedly denied that it will unveil its first domestic sponsor
until March although media speculation has already named Lloyds TSB as the brand
taking the banking category, albeit at the reduced price of £80m.
