LOCOG, the organising committee for the London 2012 Olympics, is to unveil its
new brand identity for the Games on 4th June.

The new brand identity, designed by agency Wolff Olins, will include a new
logo, slogan and website among other marketing asset updates.

The current London 2012 logo with the multi-color ribbon following the path
of the River Thames was produced in November 2003 in the bid days while London
was still competing to win hosting rights.

Traditionally, once a city has won the bid – it becomes totally re-branded
for Games purposes and eventually produces logos for the Olympic and Paralympic
Games, a slogan, sport pictograms and mascots.

The new brand identity will be used by all marketing partners as part of the
collateral involved in LOCOG’s commercial packages.
