Media reports claim that the agency pitch to secure the principal marketing contract for the London 2012 Olympics is down to two network agencies.
The contract, which it is claimed requires the winner to sponsor the Games to the tune of nearly £10m, has been speculated to have been narrowed down to WPP Group and McCann Erickson.
It was earlier thought that Publicis Groupe was still in the running but this has been discounted with Chime Communications is the latest marketing group to drop out.
A final decision is expected later this week with the pitch process being led by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) commercial chief Chris Townsend.
Publicis Groupe, including Saatchi & Saatchi and ZenithOptimedia, however has won the pan-European advertising account for VISA’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Games.
