London 2012 And BP Offer Development Programme

London 2012 and BP have launched a new development programme that aims to give young people from across the UK the chance to make a positive and significant change to their lives and local communities.

A group of 100 young leaders will take part in an 18-month training programme, designed by the London 2012 Young Leaders Programme with guidance from BP employees, to improve their communication and leadership skills.

The group will receive coaching support and guidance from 100 BP employees and a number of Olympian and Paralympian athletes.

The selected leaders will develop a range of volunteering opportunities in their local communities and will also have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games – as a volunteer in the London 2012 volunteer programme.

The programme will take place between April 2010 and the end of the Games in September 2012.
