London 2012 Seeks Business Backing
With two years exactly until the London 2012 Olympics the government has launched a new initiative designed to raise £25m to support the development of athletes ahead of the Games.
?The joint venture is being run by the British Olympic Association, the British Paralympic Association, UK Sport and LOCOG, backed by National Lottery and Government funding.??
The Our Team 2012 project allows small and medium businesses to invest £20,000 into the development of potential competitors ahead of the Games in two years’ time.?
Employees of the firms taking part will get a chance to meet the athletes, get access to hospitality events and tickets to sporting events across the UK.
The firms will also benefit from networking opportunities in their own region, seminars, insight and training.
Most funds raised through Our Team 2012 will be distributed by UK Sport through its ‘World Class Performance Programme’.
