Nearly three million young people from schools across England and Wales have signed-up to take part in Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week 2013, with this year’s event coming almost one year on from the bank’s sponsorship of London 2012.

Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week 2013 will launch in London on Monday 24 June, with 210 pupils from Southfields Academy taking part in rowing, water polo, handball, softball, trampolining and boccia. Lloyds TSB Ambassadors and gold medallists Katherine Grainger and Richard Whitehead will also be sharing their expertise and lending a helping hand on the day.

The initiative, delivered in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, is a week-long sporting celebration for schools across Britain.

Recent research from Lloyds TSB claimed that over three million of the 3.8 million pupils in England and Wales who participated in last year’s week are now playing more sport than before taking part.
