The organising committee for the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore have appointed McCann Worldgroup to develop the marketing strategy for the Games with the advertising agency also becoming a tier two domestic sponsor.
As the official marketing communications services supplier, McCann Worldgroup will collaborate with organising committee to formulate overall marketing strategies plus creative development and execution of all advertising campaigns for the inaugural Games.
A comprehensive through-the-line campaign is expected to be launched both locally and in key global markets to generate awareness and build interest in the Youth Olympics.
Singapore will play host to the first Youth Olympic Games from 14th to 26th August 2010.
The Games is expected to draw some 3,600 athletes and 800 officials from the 205 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), along with about 800 media representatives, 20,000 local and international volunteers, plus over 500,000 spectators.
