Next year’s British Grand Prix MotoGP event will take place from 23rd to 25th May, the global motorcycle racing championship has announced.
The race at Silverstone has been held in either August or September since 2013.
The change in scheduling will position the race alongside Formula 1’s British Grand Prix, and the Silverstone Festival, which will form a triple-header of racing events at the Northamptonshire venue.
By staging the event in May, MotoGP’s commercial rights holder Dorna Sports is aiming to draw in more spectators, with the race set to take place outside of the summer holiday season.
“It’s a fabulous venue and the racing here is always fantastic,” said Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports.
“We’re really happy to be able to confirm when we’ll be returning to Silverstone next season, and to celebrate the British GP at a different time of year.”
Newcastle United have secured a pre-season partnership with Savvy Games Group for the club’s Japan tour.
The deal, which includes ‘official summer partner’ designation, was signed ahead of the Magpies’ two fixtures against the Urawa Red Diamonds and Yokohama Marinos last week.
During Newcastle’s preseason tour, the club released its new third kit for the upcoming 2024/25 season, and led numerous activations as part of its strategy to engage and expand its fanbase in Japan.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has signed a global, five-year partnership extension with Hero MotoCorp.
The deal designates the Indian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer as the organisation’s ‘global leadership partner’, with the 15-year association between the two parties set to continue until 2028.
As per the renewal, Hero MotoCorp will receive prominent brand visibility across the FIH’s events, including the Hockey World Cup, the Hockey Pro League, the Indoor Hockey World Cup, the Hockey Junior World Cup, the Hockey5s World Cup and the Hockey Nations Cup.
“As the world gathers for the Olympic Games, I am proud to announce the renewal of our partnership with the International Hockey Federation for the next five years,” said Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman at Hero MotoCorp.
“Hero MotoCorp is committed to elevating hockey’s prominence, with upcoming global events in India playing a pivotal role.
“We aim to inspire youth worldwide with values of respect, equality, diversity, sustainability, and fair play, ensuring hockey’s spirit shines brightly across the globe.”
