Nike has made a raft of new appointments to bolster its UK marketing team,
adding three new roles to further increase the brand’s focus on London following
the success of its Run London event.
Melanie Lowe joins Nike from Levi’s, where she was marketing manager, to
become head of marketing – London, reporting to UK marketing director Simon
Pestridge.
Reporting into Lowe is Alex Pellew, former account director at TBWA, who
becomes London brand manager – Football and Running.
The brand will also shortly announce a new appointment as London brand
manager for Women’s and Sport Culture.
Also joining Nike UK is Ed Elworthy, who will be commencing his role as head
of brand communications at the end of August.
After starting his career at London advertising agencies BBH and Fallon,
Elworthy joined Nike in 2003 as brand communications manager for Australia, and
has held the same role for the last two years at Nike China.
Nike recently posted record financial results of $16.3 billion revenue for
its fiscal year 2007.
