Odgers Berndtson Appoints Schiller

Harvey Schiller, former Turner Sports President, Secretary General of the USOC and YankeeNets CEO, will join the global search firm Odgers Berndtson in the newly created position of vice chair and president of the sports, media & entertainment practice.

In the role Schiller will work to fill sports executive positions in the U.S. and abroad.Schiller said: ‘Identifying talent is something that’s been part of my life informally. Having sat in similar seats (professionally), I hope I can identify the right kind of person to fill the position that’s available.’

Former IOC marketing exec Michael Payne serves as an international advisor and ambassador for Odgers Berndtson.

The firm has established itself in building bid teams and organising committees for major events including; England 2018, VANOC 2010, LOCOG 2012 and Rio 2016 and has all but monopolized the most senior positions in sport in the UK.

Schiller’s main focus will be expanding the profile of Odgers Berndtson in the Americas and supporting the work globally.

Before joining Turner in ’94, Schiller was Exec Dir & Secretary General of the USOC. Schiller, who has a doctorate of chemistry from the Univ. of Michigan, will continue to serve as Chair & CEO of GlobalOptions Group, a multidisciplinary international risk management and business solutions company.
