Athlete management platform Kinetic has announced the appointment of Olympian Brendan Reilly to head up its business development as the company targets new markets.
The high jumper, who competed in the Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992 and Sydney 2000, will be tasked with promoting the Kinetic solution to coaches of professional and elite sport teams across Europe and the US.
Based in Derbyshire, Kinetic’s core product is a cloud-based athlete management system, which the company says is designed to optimise on-field performance.
The platform correlates athlete data with up-to-the-minute research and intelligence in the fields of sports performance, recovery and nutrition.
Reilly’s appointment comes as Kinetic is seeking to expand into new sports and geographical markets, building on its presence in rugby league, where the company’s clients include Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity.
Former British champion Reilly brings both high-level coaching and commercial experience to the role, as a former head of athletics, football and performance at Stowe School, who has also held sales positions at Universal Pictures, SenseCore and Dartfish.
Commenting on his appointment, Reilly said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the Kinetic team.
“In this age of marginal gains, it’s vital that coaches and athletes alike have access to accurate and meaningful data that informs their training programmes and ultimately boosts their performance.”
