The timeline for the post-London 2012 life of the Olympic Park has been revealed, with the first section of the development set to open to the public one year on from the London 2012 opening ceremony on JUly 27th 2012.

The remaining areas of the Park will open over the following few months, with the whole development open to the public by the spring of 2014.

The redevelopment between the end of the Games and the reopening of the Park will include the construction of new houses, decontamination of soil, and the removal of temporary structures including the Basketball Arena, the Water Polo Arena and several other temporary structures.

London Legacy Development Corporation chief executive Andrew Altman insisted: ‘We don’t want the park venues to be in isolation. London is an urban area and we are bringing the residential areas in close to make it a vibrant and exciting place to be.’
