The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has confirmed that plans for an Olympic Route Network have advanced amid concerns that the transport systems may be overloaded for the Olympics in 2012.
The network will ensure that athletes and officials can travel quickly to their venues with their equipment.
‘Their arrival in plenty of time and in peak condition is my main priority and our Olympic Route Network will meet those special travel needs,’ said the Mayor.
However, the International Olympic Committee will tell members of the ‘Games Family’ to only use the fast track service when absolutely necessary, encouraging them to use public transport.
