Naming rights and sponsorship deals are being sought for the long-term future of London 2012 Olympic Park venues, including the Olympic Stadium – after the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) officially launched a formal tender process.

Rights for the £486m Olympic Stadium, Multi-Use Arena and Aquatics Centre have all been made available by the OPLC, with potential parties free to formally register their interest until 2nd March.

A final decision on successful bids will be made in May.

The venues and Park will begin to re-open in 2013 after they have been converted into their use beyond this summer’s events.

The OPLC claim that nearly 10 million people a year will visit the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park once it is fully reopened to the public in 2016, following the Olympic Games later this year.

16 parties have already registered their interest in becoming the tenant of the Olympic Park after London 2012 – where it will be used as a 60,000 seater, multi-purpose venue, as well as the new national centre for athletics.

The Aquatics Centre will become a swimming facility with two 50 metres pools with moveable floors and booms, along with a diving pool and 2,500 seats which can be extended to 3,500 seats for large events.

The Multi-Use Arena, known as the Copper Box, will host a mix of sporting, commercial and cultural events, along with community sport.
