ParalympicsGB has announced it is beginning it’s search for a new chief executive, following the departure of Phil Lane last week.

Lane left his post with immediate effect after 10 years in the job – overseeing a hugely successful era for Paralympics in Great Britain.

The registered charity is responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing Britain’s teams at the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games, and has announced it is looking for a chief executive with the vision and drive to lead the organisation into London and beyond.

Chairman Tim Reddish said: ‘These are exciting times for Paralympic sport and ParalympicsGB. We are looking for someone who can help us maximise the opportunities that a home Games presents and shares our ambition to use the power of the London Games to change perceptions of disability and disability sport’.

The new CEO will be responsible for a team of 22, and work with the board and the executive to plan for a long-term development of ParalympicsGB.

Phil Lane, after announcing his decision to leave, added: ‘The staff team at ParalympicsGB is well-placed to deliver fantastic support to British Paralympic athletes and ensure their continued success. I am looking forward to watching them compete in what promises to be the best Paralympic Games ever’.
