Performance Raids Diageo For New Ceo

WPP-owned sports agency Performance, which counts a number of UEFA Champions
League sponsors amongst its client list, has poached a new chief executive
officer from drinks giant Diageo prompting a restructure of its senior staff.

Sean Jefferson, presently the global director of sponsorship, events and PR
at Diageo, will head up Performance which has 12 offices and 150 consultants
across Europe.

Nick Walford, the current managing director will take over as chief operating
officer for Europe.

David Stubley, the agency’s founding chief executive, will remain a practice
partner and continue to work with a number of the agency’s clients, but is
reducing his time commitment to also develop other interests which include a
non-executive role with sailing franchise Clipper Ventures.

Performance advises brand’s on their sponsorship strategies and how to drive
return on investment from such associations. The agency’s client list includes
Ford, Vodafone, Land Rover, BP, Motorola, Nestle, Unilever, Nike, HSBC and IBM.
