Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford has signed as the latest addition to PhD Nutrition’s growing team of athletes, after confirming a new deal with the sports nutrition and supplement brands as he finalises his preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow before looking ahead to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The long jump champion goes into the Games on the back of a personal best of 8.51m in California, setting a new British record in the process.
Having recently introduced new ranges and re-formulated a number of their core products, PhD Nutrition will support Greg’s nutritional requirements as he prepares for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the defence of his Olympic title in Rio in 2016.
Rutherford said: ‘I’m delighted to be working with PhD Nutrition, a brand I have been using for a long time. I passionately believe athletes need to follow a strict nutrition regime to ensure success and the range that PhD Nutrition offers is specifically tailored to meet my nutritional requirements.’
‘I’ve got a big year ahead of me, I’m determined to succeed at the highest level again. With the support of PhD Nutrition, I will enter the Commonwealth Games physically fit and ready to compete at my optimum.’
Brooke Smart, marketing manager at PhD Nutrition, added: ‘We’re extremely proud to support Olympic gold medallist and long jump British record holder Greg Rutherford, as a key member of our roster of athletes. We wish Greg every success for the Commonwealth Games and look forward to supporting him in his quest for success and more gold medals.’
