Visa is reported to have handed Publicis Groupe the pan-European advertising account to leverage the credit card brand’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympics.

The agency network is believed to have emerged victorious from a competitive pitch against rival network WPP.

As a result of the win, Publicis Groupe agencies working on the business will include Saatchi & Saatchi, ZenithOptimedia, Publicis Dialog and Digitas.

In March, Visa launched its new global marketing strategy aimed at encouraging people to appreciate life under the banner ‘Go’.

The ads, created by TBWA, have been voiced by Morgan Freeman and carry the strapline ‘More people go with Visa’.

Last year, Visa Europe appointed former Levis marketing chief Colin Clarke to senior vice president of brand management. He is responsible for all brand activity across Europe through all channels, including advertising, promotions and online.
