Rca Agrees Locog Tie-up For 2012 Ceremonies

The Royal College of Art has signed a partnership with the London 2012 Organising Committee that will see post graduate students design key elements of the Olympic and Paralympic Games victory ceremonies.

More than 770 Victory Ceremonies will take place in 29 different venues across the UK and LOCOG will work with RCA students to design key elements including the podia.

Around 250 trays and 6,000 flower holders will be used in the victory ceremonies throughout the Games.?

Students will work in collaboration with industry producers involved in each element, whilst also working at the Games with key London 2012 victory ceremonies staff to see their designs in action.
 
Next, the London 2012 official clothing and homeware supplier, will also work with the RCA students on their designs to produce all the costumes for the ceremonies, including costumes for the presenter escorts, athlete escorts and medal and flower bearers.
