Red Bull Inspiration Day celebrated Britain’s ‘Future 50’ this week, some of the most unique and successful young companies – at Red Bull Headquarters with Olympic Champion Jason Gardener – after Real Business magazine concluded its four-month search for the ‘Future 50’.
The aim of the Future 50 is to champion companies under 4 years old, and Olympic Champion Jason Gardener MBE was on hand to participate in the Red Bull Inspiration Day to discuss and advise the companies on how to nurture their success.
During the event, Gardener spoke exclusively to Sport Industry Group:
What are you doing here with Red Bull today?
‘I’m supporting the Red Bull Inspiration Day here at the Red Bull Racing factory by doing a presentation about my experiences and nurturing talent. I’m also hosting a Q&A with Red Bull athlete Martin Bernard. Amongst the audience today are the Future 50, businesses that are recognised as innovative and leading in their specific industries.’
How can sport help in business?
‘Sport and business go hand-in-hand. Often businesses use the expertise that people have achieved in sport to help business – business opportunities, business success. Also the values that athletes hold and their messages – setting aims, achieving dream goals, attainable targets and delivering success.’
‘Surrounding yourselves with talent is exactly the same principle that also applies to business. Sports people have great stories to share and often when a journey is so mammoth – for sports people to achieve the success that they do go on and achieve – is a very powerful tool to inspire businesses to raise their performance within their own professional work spaces.’
What has inspired you about today?
‘Every time you come to an environment, such as the Red Bull Racing factory, it is clear that this is an environment that is conducive to success – the attention to detail, the staff, the professionalism the equipment, the building and the organisation. What is also inspiring is the people you meet, they are probably the most inspiring part of the day.’
‘I’ve met some of the delegates here today who are so passionate about what they do and so committed to achieve and sustain success and that’s why they are here today. I like people that aren’t complacent, that want to smash through barriers and break new records. And what an appropriate place to be – at the Red Bull Racing Factory – who are doing just that.’
