Wembley National Stadium Limited has lost its head of sponsorship Clive Richards
who is leaving the group at the end of the year.

Richards, who joined Wembley from IMG in October 2003, has quit to launch a
new media venture the details of which are not clear at this juncture.

The departing Richards was pivotal in bringing in Wembley’s founding
partnership deals with Carlsberg, Microsoft and Umbro as well as second-tier
partner deals with Betfred and Npower.

The move comes as a blow to Wembley which has still to bring in one more
founding partner as well as bolstering its second-tier propositions.

It is clear whether Richards, who reported in to marketing and commercial
director Jonathan Gregory, will be replaced.

Wembley, which has endured a string of negative press over the years, is
scheduled to open its doors for next year’s FA Cup Final after the FA agreed a
deal with constructors Multiplex over the outstanding disputes that had delayed
the project.
