AEG Global Partnerships is seeking a headline naming rights sponsor for the new Scottish National Arena in Glasgow that is set to host major sporting events and will open in 2013.

The agreement is part of a broader strategic partnership with AEG Facilities who currently have a network of 100 venues worldwide.

AEG Global Partnerships will seek to replicate the success of the sponsorship deals created at The O2, which enjoys commercial partnerships with 13 major brands.

The National Arena will be the largest multi-use entertainment venue in Scotland, hosting major sporting events, concerts, conventions and arena shows.

It is expected to have in excess of 1 million visitors a year, ensuring its place as one of the top five busiest arenas in the world.

The Arena, designed by Foster + Partners, is a significant development in the Queen’s Dock Project (QD2) master plan on the 64-acre site, which incorporates the existing Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre.

The Arena design will include a VIP seating area, luxury suites and a variety of cafés and restaurants, plus state-of-the-art technology to rival the most modern of arenas.
