Sky Sports Ventures, the pay-TV broadcaster’s subsidiary sports marketing
division, has rebranded as Sky Alive – a marketing agency that will deliver
event sponsorship to properties in sport, music and the arts.
Sky Alive, which the broadcaster hopes will become a major player in the
agency marketplace, differs from its previous incarnation in that Sky Sports
Ventures worked only with brands that had an existing relationship with the
broadcaster.
Sky Alive will operate out of the Sky Media division and deal with clients
previously unassociated with the Sky brand, differing from its rivals in that
its revenue will be derived solely from properties rather than the sponsors
themselves.
Among the new agency’s founding clients include the America’s Cup sailing
event and Chelsea FC.
