PR and communications specialist Soapbox has hired James Clifford as a non-executive Chairman.
In his new role, the Clifford French co-founder will collaborate closely with Soapbox founders Wilkinson and Andy Bell, providing strategic and operational support for the London-based agency.
Clifford has more than 20 years of industry experience across areas including PR and communications, sponsorship activation, talent partnerships, and both digital and influencer-led campaigns.
His arrival follows Soapbox’s recent signing of darts star Luke Littler to its talent roster.
At present, the company’s clients include former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, England Lionesses star Chloe, and British racing driver Jamie Chadwick.
“I’ve long admired what Andy and Rowan have achieved with Soapbox,” Clifford said.
“There’s a lot of parallels between their journey and my own career so it feels a very natural partnership where, hopefully, I can add some further insight and experience to what is already a hugely talented team.
“Soapbox’s earned-first expertise is something that we’re finding is really sought after in the current market.
“We’re making big strides in getting the agency story out there and recent successes show the approach really resonates with clients.”
