According to media reports, the organisers of the London 2012 Olympic Games are testing ‘Moment to Shine’ as a possible strapline for the Olympic flame’s 70-day Torch Relay in the UK.
Organising committee LOCOG trademarked ‘Moment to Shine’ in February this year in preparation for the relay, which begins on 18th May in 2012.
The organisers are considering a number of alternative straplines but ‘Moment to Shine’ is the only one they have hitherto trademarked.
The strapline is expected to be used in all marketing activity around the relay, although the full marketing plans for the Relay are still unclear.
The flame will arrive in Britain on 18th May and arrive in London the weekend before the start of the Olympics on 27th July.
8,000 torch-bearers will carry the torch and LOCOG claims the flame will come within a one-hour journey for 95% of the population of the UK.
Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung are the presenting partners for the Torch Relay.
