Ticketmaster To Sponsor London 2012

Ticketmaster has been appointed Official Ticketing Services Provider for London 2012, and in the process is now a London 2012 Tier 3 sponsor.   

Tickets for the 2012 Games go on sale in 2011 and between now and then, Ticketmaster will work with LOCOG on its ongoing ticketing strategy and planning before assisting in the set-up and running of the ticket sales process. Over nine million tickets will be on sale for both the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

With a past of delivering ticket sales for multiple global sporting events such as the Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cups, and World Twenty20, Ticketmaster is expected to develop a strategy that will deliver top notch customer service, according to LOCOG Commercial Director, Chris Townsend.

Ticketmaster joins a host of other Tier 3 sponsors for the Games, including Airwave, Atkins, Boston Consulting Group, Crystal CG, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, Holiday Inn, McCann Worldgroup, The Nielsen Company, Populous, and Trident.

On its way to fulfilling a £2bn budget for stating the Olympics, LOCOG also has six domestic Tier One Partners in adidas, BP, British Airways, BT, EDF and Lloyds TSB.

The Worldwide Olympic Partners signed up for London 2012 thus far are Coca-Cola, Acer, Atos Origin, GE, McDonald’s, Omega, Panasonic, Samsung and Visa.
