UK Sport has agreed a new partnership with Quartz Sequoia Events, organiser of the Elevate sports and fitness convention, following the firm’s acquisition this year of the Elite Sports Expo event.

The deal will see UK Sport become a Lead Supporter at Elite Sports Expo 2019, which will be held alongside Elevate at ExCeL on 8th and 9th May next year.

As part of the new agreement, the Elevate team will also provide event management support for UK Sport’s own portfolio of events.

The government body regularly hosts forums for performance sport leaders as part of its work to create medal-winners through strategic investment and thought leadership.

Debbie Jenssen, deputy director of people development at UK Sport, commented: “Partnering with the organisers of Elite Sports Expo means we can deliver the best experience possible for the individuals working across the high-performance system who will be attending our performance learning event.

“This is important for us because it means our participants can spend more time learning and collaborating – which is what this event is all about. It also means that we can focus on delivering a world-leading performance learning agenda. This partnership provides us the opportunity to extend our participants’ learning journey.”

UK Sport will join ISEH, English Institute of Sport, Scottish Institute of Sport and UKSCA among the Elite Sports Expo partners.

The free, annual high-performance event brings together more than 10,000 elite sports clubs, coaches and athletes. It was acquired by Quartz Sequoia Events from previous owner Prysm Group in April this year.

The agenda for the 2019 edition of the event is set to focus on innovations in strength and conditioning, SAQ training, data analysis, nutrition, injury prevention and recovery.
