Utv Media To Buy Sport Magazine
UTV Media, the owner of TalkSport and the Northern Ireland ITV franchise, is reported to have completed the purchase of free weekly magazine Sport.
The title is now scheduled to return to distribution in London on 12th June, according to media speculation.
It is understood that 19 of Sport’s 22 UK staff, including its editor Simon Caney, will stay on and move into UTV’s UK offices.
However it is thought that the deal will lead to the departure of Sport managing director Greg Miall although he will stay on during the transition process.
UTV Media is aiming to integrate the Sport sales team alongside its TalkSport commercial unit, which will be rebranded under a new as-yet undecided name, within a week and will be headed by TalkSport sales director Adam Bullock.
