Virgin Media are set to boost their sport content after sealing a deal with the UK-based digital sport specialist Perform to give viewers on-demand sporting news and events.

The deal will add a wide range of football, tennis, golf and motorsport to Virgin Media’s Sport portal, www.virginmedia.co/sport and Virgin can now use on-demand clips from Perform’s Omnisport.tv sports news bulletin.

Perform currently provide production services for Virgin media’s football content, including highlights of all Barclays Premier League, Coca-Cola Championship, League One and League Two matches.

The partnership extends these responsibilities to the day-to-day running of the Virgin Media sports portal, video integration and editorship.

Alex Green, managing director of Portal at Virgin Media was keen to stress how this would widen customer’s choice of video content, highlights and editorial, delivering a ‘multi-sports experience’.
