Visa Europe has signed a media agreement with the News International Group to help promote its Olympic ties with Team 2012 and encourage the British public to get behind the team.
The partnership will allow News International newspapers (The Sun, News of the World, The Times and The Sunday Times) to all use the title ‘Official Newspaper of Team 2012’.?
In the build up to the games News International will produce a multi-channel campaign featuring Team 2012 in a bid to engage the athletes with their audiences.
Team 2012 presenting partner Visa confirmed at the end of last year that it will focus its London 2012 marketing activity surrounding the Games on enhancing the profile of Britain’s Olympic athletes and this new deal provides an ideal platform.
Visa will also create competitions that offer the chance to meet and train with athletes in the run-up to the Games and provide tickets to its other 34 European markets.
The campaign will be rolled out digitally and through social media as well as point-of-sale.
