The next phase of construction for the 2012 London Olympic Games is set to begin this week with work to start on the Gymnastics Centre at the University of East Anglia.
The £2.8m project is scheduled to start on 10th January 2011 and is set to be completed by 22nd August 2011.
The Gymnastics Centre is being added onto the back of the Haydn Morris Hall, the second indoor arena, which was added to Sportspark in 2009.
The investment in Gymnastics and in the Soccerpark extension which is now underway is being financed entirely by Sportspark.
The Gymnastics Centre will be 648 square meters and will be fully equipped to Olympic standard and will have pits for vaulting, a high bar, tumble track, floor area and floor level trampoline.
There will be viewing areas at ground and first floor level, with the option to bring in additional spectator seating for competitions.
