The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched the new branding and visual identity of the Youth Olympic Games – ‘YOG-DNA’.
The ‘YOG-DNA’ label will be integrated into all Youth Olympic Games digital and social media concepts in both the build-up to Singapore 2010 and future Games.
A video has also been created, which includes a message from 100m and 200m world record holder Usain Bolt and encourages young athletes to ‘broaden their horizons’ and ‘have fun’.
The “YOG-DNA” label is targeted at young people and the aim is for young athletes to use it as a stamp of approval for anything that has the “Spirit of the Youth Olympic Games”.
The YOG-DNA label will also be amalgamated for the first time into a Youth Olympic Games emblem for Innsbruck 2012, which will be launched in February during the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.
The Youth Olympic Games are held on 14th to 26th August in Singapore where 3,600 athletes between 14 and 18 years of age, from all 205 National Olympic Committees, will compete in the 26 sports on the London 2012 Olympic Games programme.
The Singapore Organising Committee is also celebrating the 200-day countdown to the Youth Games by announcing the route of the ‘Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame’ an initiative that intends to bring the Spirit of the Youth Olympic Games to each continent.
